RNA and DNA tests?

I just called my doctor and she told me that my RNA test was negative, but they have not recieved the DNA yet. She told me not to worry but should I be? WHat is the difference between thr RNA and he DNA test?

You still need an antibody test done. PCR-RNA test are only supplemental tests for HIV and are not stand alone tests. PCR-DNA are not approved diagnostic tests in the US.

hiv pcr rna is the viral load, if it is neg that means undectable , which doesn't mean anything cause you could still be infected. not sure about the dna test.
