Really scared, this scare is ruining my life, please help.

I had intercourse on Nov 8 with a woman who I met at the bar, I was drinking heavily and the night is sort of blurry, I do remember putting on a condom, I had vaginal and anal sex with her, Im 100% sure we had unprotected oral, as for the vaginal or anal I'm not posotive but I do remember putting a condom on... anyways around 4 weeks later my tongue became really sore and I have small white bumps on the insides of my cheecks, I been very stressed out its ruining my life, I'm attending college and I can't even pay attention in class, I'm always thinking about being hiv posotive... I had a test at 6 weeks but I don't think that test is conclusive, I'm gonna go back and get the 12 week test but Im worried about screwing my marks up in college if I have to wait that long, I honestly cannott pay attention in class... I do have anxiety and OCD but I find the bumps in my mouth really odd... the doctor told me the sore on my tongue was geographic tongue but it doesn't look like that from pictures, the white bumps on my tongue look like hairy leuplakia which are really common in hiv posotive patients! I don't know what to do, I can't concentrate on anything but HIV...

It's definitely a scary thing to have to deal with.  You should at least tell someone though, because keeping it in will only make it worse. Telling people about it will bring you back to reality and add a lot of comfort.  I would know, I was in your shoes very recently.

Sorry to hear about all this. I know it is stressful and hard to deal with. But at least you tested negative at 6 week.  That's a great sign. A vast majority of people will indeed seroconvert at 4-6 weeks past exposure. And if the symptoms you were feeling were due to HIV, then your test would've been positive. Of course, international guidelines still recommend 12 weeks to be conclusive, negative at 6 weeks is a very good sign. Especially if you weren't on PEP.. It's hard but I promise you have to keep your mind on track. And if you did indeed wear a condom, that almost eliminates the risk. Hope you're able to keep your anxiety in check.

Test at 6 weeks is very good indication of you being negative.

I am more than 100% sure that your test at 12 weeks will be negative.

Be calm and have test at 12 weeks.  I guaranty you of being negative.

Doctors have never seen a test turning positive after 6 weeks.
so , just chill and move on with life.
