test was inconclusive. They also informed me that they will send my blood sample for NAT and ELISA test at another lab. I got really paranoid, then the next day I went to another hospital and tested HIV antibody by MEIA method. The result came back negative. After 3 days I got my NAT test result, it came back negative. I am still waiting for the ELISA result. The clinic where I tested inconclusive asked me to keep testing for ELISA 3 times for 6 weeks. The woman told me she is not a doctor, she is a nurse. Should I need to test so many time? OR do i need to test any further after I receive my ELISA test result. I hope it will be negative.
I am really very confused. Please go through this and tell me what to do. My whole world is shading away. Please help me. I am constantly being told from Medhelp that I do not have any HIV concern. But now i need a straight answer Looking forward to your reply. Thanking you in advance.
we have given you STRAIGHT answers from the start ! !
you were never at risk and did not need testing...but since you did...your test at 14 weeks was RELIABLE and CONCLUSIVE.
the CURRENT guideline is 3 months post exposure for a conclusive test.
now before you come back and ask "why" they told you that you needed further testing...let me just go ahead and say that they are either ignorant or they are milking you for every penny they can get.
But as I told u, I went to another hospital the next day after the inconclusive result. the doctor tested me again, i discussed with him everything. after i got the negative MEIA test that day, the doctor asked me to wait for the NAT test and also asked me to test just once at the 6 months mark. Now that my NAT is negative, do i need a 6 month antibody test?
I am just concerned because of the inconclusive test result.

I can understand that it bothers you with my questions. I am really very sorry for that. But please try to understand my current mental status. The inconclusive rapid test almost ruined my life. I got my 1st ELISA test result after 12 days. It came back negative When I went to get the result, they took my blood sample for the 2nd ELISA test and I will get the result on next Thursday. Then, according to them, on next Thursday they will again take my blood sample for the last and final ELISA test.
Please tell me what to do with my inconclusive rapid test. I stopped bothering after I got the 14 weeks negative ELISA result. But on the 16 the week I only went for different STD tests. They also asked me whether I want and HIV test as well. I agreed because it was a free clinic, so I didn't had to bother with the money.
Also please tell me whether HIV NAT test checks for both HIV-1 and HIV-2 or just HIV-1.
How can you people be so sure that I have no HIV concern, although you guys are not medical professionals. Did you receive any HIV counseling training ?
Please brother, try to understand me and guide me. It's a request.
Also my swollen neck lymph nodes are bothering me. It started after 13 weeks from the incident. Please give me some information on HIV symptoms and time when people have symptoms after possible exposure.
Thank you so much. Please kindly forgive me for the annoyance.
