Really worried

by Nervous&scared, Sep 30, 2007 08:14AM
Hi All

Wanted to post this on the docs forum but no luck . Please find below a summary of my situation :

Place of exposure : Dubai

Total sexual partners :  (3) 1 Uzbek , 1 Chinese , 1 Russian from St-Petersburg

Total unprotected sessions : 3 , ejaculated outside

Once with Uzbik  , seemed very concerned about condoms and insisted on washing between sessions , she only allowed me to not use a condom after I failed to finish off with it on , total time unprotected 2-3 minutes .

Twice with Russian on 2 separate occasions ,she  was very particular about using condoms  , on 1st time she reminded me about them . On second time she didn't mind me penetrating without on condition I ejaculate outside . During conversation after she said that it was her 1st time to allow someone to sleep with her without a condom . My belief is she was trying to get me attached to her so she can get access to my wallet and move in with me . It is this Russian I'm worried about .

Symptoms :

Small lymph nodes felt under ear at 9 weeks after last exposure

1 week later " 10 weeks after exposure " swollen Uvula that went down on same day but left an uncomfortable feeling and looked kind of infected , went to GP and diagnosed severe Severe inflammation and congestion . Lymph nodes behind jaw are palatable

1 week after "11 weeks after exposure " ache in groin , no secretions or bad smelling secretions from Penis , Urologists orders Urine culture , comes back as bacteria positive with high WBC " 15000 " , rules out STD due to near 3 months since last exposure and says it is of bacterial causes , puts me on Urospas and Ciprobay . Complete CBC reads high on " WBC , NEUT , MCHC " , low on " LYM% & MCV "

During this period I'd read up on causes of groin pain , which lead to me checking out Chahlmidya which in turn hinted at possible HIV which I in turn checked out . Since then I've been going nuts that I might be infected . My symptoms since then have been general Flu like symptoms with no fever or rash :

Ache in body
mild sore throat
runny nose / congested nose
malaise
momentary shooting aches in Lymph node locations , no mentionable swelling anywhere
loose stools " I have IBS , but still not my normal consistency "
loss of appetite
oral thrush
Palatable neck and behind Jaw lymph nodes

Most of these symptoms started as soon as I started taking the broad spectrum antibiotic

I have not had a fever since my last exposure nor have I had a rash  , I also had a very mild sore throat " which could be attributed to excessive smoking " 4 weeks after my last exposure  , it was also accompanied by a runny nose and last for 1 day .

I know this is alot of detail and seems rather paranoid , would just like to hear your opinions since reaching the Doc is rather difficult so is getting tested as i can't take the test here , in the case that I do test +ve I lose my job , belongings and get deported . Not only will I lose my health and normal life , I will also lose my career & savings . I keep considering going abroad for testing but it seems rather difficult to fit in with a demanding work schedule to match Flights / Walk in Clinic operating hours.

Coming to think of it now , none of this was really worth it  , I wish I hadn't done that **** even though I was severely depressed at the time . Now I'm even more deporessed and worried , thinking how a momentary irresponsible decision may rion my life , sorry If i wasted your time

There are many people that have come and gone on this site in very similiar situations as yours. You could get a home test kit mailed to you and you mail it back! I think they can email results or you can call. Most of the people, (U.S. Contractors) in Dubai, either do this or they wait till they visit U.S. for home vacation. Not sure if this your case! But relax!!!! everyone that was in this situation tested negative. I have seen about four people, same setup, in 5 months of being on here. 6 weeks is a prettty good indicator (helps you take off some stress), but 12/13 week is the only conclusive. You have obviously learned a lesson, Good luck!

The only way to know about your HIV status is by testing after 13 weeks " 3 months"

symptoms mean nothing  and it can be related to many things. so, forget about it.

the estimated risk per act for unprotected insertive veginal sex is 5 per 10,000.

Relax, waite for the 3 months post exposure , get tested and move on and get back to us with the result.

GOOD LUCK

Managed to dig up the girls phone no. , said she'd gone back to Russia 3 weeks ago and had herself fully checked , doctor said she was clean . Feel a bit relieved now , but I think I should still do the test .

The right thing to do is to test and know for sure what your status is. Always use condoms no matter what anyone tells you.
