Recent suspected exposure

Hi,
I recently had a brief exposure with csw, in the from of unprotected vaginal penetration for about 5-10 secs. Also I fingered her and only to realise I had some superficial cuts on my fingers from one day before the incident.
I have started the pep with 600mg zidovudine twice daily and 300mg lamivudine twice daily from day three of the exposure.
Iam expereincing  some pain in my hands, not able to close the fist properly not sure if this is a sign of infection or side effect of pep drugs.
Please help as iam feeling very anxious and depressed.
Regards.

Did you start PEP on the advice of a doctor? If so, he is the best person to talk to, about your side effects

I do not know all of the side effects of PEP.  As I mentioned before, you should discuss these with your doctor.

Please do not focus on your symptoms.  No one can diagnose you or even make a guess based on your symptoms. Only a test can diagnose HIV.

Its 5 day today and I feel a small itchy rash type thing on my back. Is it due to infection or a side effect of pep

Fingering is absolutely no risk, even with cuts.

Your brief unprotected penetration did put you at slight risk.  I probably wouldn't have taken PEP for this risk, but that's a personal choice, and you should discuss side effects with your doctor.  I'm not a professional, but it sounds to me more like your cuts are inflamed.
