Regardless of Symptoms is Oral Sex Safe?

Is insertive unprotected oral sex safe regardless of symptoms that occur 2-4 weeks after possible exposure with another man of unknown status?
My symptoms seen to get worse and assume I coincidentally have mono or something else.

Hey man check out your great news!!!!!!!!

Okay, we all knew it was never going to be anything else but you are so right about the mind being powerful!

It is great that you have  this clarity, your test with a 4th Generation test being after 28 as conclusive as night follows day, - not that you had a risk I the first place! :)

Really pleased to see you so get through this fella, - can I suggest that you cut out all googling about HIV, it is certainly not a worry for you!

Best Wishes!

James

I want to celebrate......
Ok so I just got the news from my doctor. The 4th generation HIV test for HIV 1/2 and p24 antigen after 32 days came back negative. So I  can celebrate right?!!!! Believe the result no need to retest.
As other posts have said there was no reason to test, but regardless that test at a little more than 4 weeks is definitive right?
I have taken HIV tests before and have never been this nervous or anxious. So much so that I have given myself every symptom like you went through.  Needless to say now I need to just let go and celebrate. The Mind is very powerful and cause negative issues if not kept in check.

You're welcome.

In the 3.5 years I have been looking into this I have never seen, nor heard of a case... It does not happen :)

I spoke with one of the top HIV Dr's in the UK where he gave me some truths about HIV... Oral he said, is simply not a risk.

Best Wishes

Thanks. I hope you know what that means for me.
Question. Based on your work on the site has anyone ever come back after an oral episode alone where they were told to expect negative result and it came back positive?

Tyler buddy..

When you get your NEGATIVE result in a few days, I want you to celebrate it.. Go and have a few beers, catch a film, go surfing, do something to celebrate and put this behind you.

I know for sure your test will come back Negative from this exposure, your symptoms are neither inkeeping element or frequency of HIV infection.

Keep strong buddy, look forward to being able to move on because you will when you get your negative result!!

Best wishes.

James

Ps - here if you need is fella...

Went to see dr last Tuesday for him to examine my symptoms.  Soreness in lymph node areas (armpit, elbow, groin) and possible thrush and rash. He explained that I had a deep sinus infection for the past month since when I first noticed it I thought it was thrush and he could not feel enlarged lymph nodes. The rash he attributed to stress over the past month. I have finished taking antibiotics for sinus infection today but still have some soreness in lymph nodes.
I went ahead and ordered a HIV DUO test because I think that will help me mentally get over this better. I am still waiting for results. Usually it takes 2 days.
Still worried why I am having symptoms and why I haven't heard from dr last week.
I really do pray that this is all psychological and once I have the 4 week duo test result of negative I will really feel better.
Oral is not a risk. Oral is not a risk. I keep saying but it doesn't stick based on how I feel.

Hey...

You may get other symptoms but they are nothing to do with HIV at all as you cannot catch it from Oral Sex! :)

See a Dr for your Symptoms but I promise you, HIV will NOT be the diagnosis! :)

All the best!

Thank you. I think I may have mono or cmv waiting to see dr on Tuesday but I just assume everything is associated to my adventure since the timing is almost exact. Sorry I am a pain and taking your time away from others.

Rashes and skin eruptions are very commonly seen as effects of stress and anxiety.

You need to get out of your head, and work hard to put this behind you.  If you 's time to see a mental health professional.  You don't have an HIV concern.

Hi There buddy,

You are welcome, - I would say that when you stop worrying your symptoms will disappear!

Try taking some good vitamins and taking regular exercise - drink lots of water and spend time doing things you like - you really will get better from this!

Trust me, - I have been where you are now!!

Thank you I really appreciate the reassurance. I feel alone with no one really to talk to to ease my grief. Waiting around for dr appointment to diagnose whatever it is that is causing my current symptoms is a battle.

Hey I sure did..

My ex (who I slept with) had very severe seroconverion type symptoms, as I did and as my GF did too...

Glands, mouth ulcers, constant cough, fatigue, oral thrush - you name it I / we had it...

I realised symptoms do not diagnose HIV, I tested and once I believe my tests, the symptoms in me disappeared..

You really do not have HIV, you are find I promise you that it is okay to move on and forget about this, you do not have HIV, regardless of symptoms :)

All the best - now go have a beer!

Your oral adventure posed no risk for HIV. Other STI's are however possible.
See your doctor for your symptoms, but HIV is not responsible for them

Sorry to bother you again. Did you have similar symptoms? Swollen lymph nodes? When did they go away?
Just scared that these showed up almost 2 weeks exactly after my insertive exposure.

You are welcome!

It is hard I know, I know as I have been where you are now..

You can rest assured you did not catch HIV from the above, no way, never, just didn't happen.

HIV is actually a hard virus to catch, certain things carry for risk of course, when you think of all of the research done globally, if it was an issue, we would be told to refrain from Oral sex - you are safe and sound fella!

Go enjoy your weekend! :)

Thank you so much. I keep reading hundreds of posts with the same response. It's just better when you are told directly. IM trying my best to believe and trust the posts and Dr comments , it is just difficult.

Not in a million years fella - you have not caught HIV from the above, - relax, ignore symptoms - everything becomes a symptom when you worry and research.

I promise you did not catch HIV from the above incident!!

Thank you. Appreciate it. My symptoms keep showing themselves 4 weeks after. More swollen lymph node pain, oral thrush no fever or rash. Just don't feel right and worried what it is. Have a dr appointment next week just waiting for each day to pass is difficult. It's like you make yourself believe you have it.
Had sex with wife after exposure and was nervous I passed it on to her.

Hi There,

Regardless indeed - you have had no risk of HIV from oral.

There is not one documented case that proves transmit ion from Oral sex, - not one.

Rest assured you do not have HIV and you can move on with your life.

All the best!!
