Reliability of combitest beyond 28 days

The doctors here always say that a combitest antibody + antigen at 28 days is about 99% accurate.

But what if the combitest is taken at 6 weeks, does that reduce the accuracy significantly?

Reason could be the antigen P24 is only detectable until 4 weeks, and not beyond, meaning between 4 and 6 to 8 weeks there is that alleged second window period (antigen not detectable anymore / antibodies not yet detectable).

Please advice.

thanks guys for posting on this topic but does anyone knwo if you have to take the combitest at exactly 28 days to be reliable, or is it equally reliable at 6 weeks for the antigen part.

I also agree with the 3 months antibody test as most reliable test because this whole antigen testing is very confusing with all these double window confusion.

Sorry Nick it doesn ´t make any sence to me. Duo test was created to be highly sifisticated method to detect p24 in a few days after exposure. Have negative DUO at 28 days is very strong evidence. It is opinion of all of the MEDHELP Docs. Correct me if I am wrong. Is is 3 month test necessary?

Yes that could be, but a conclusive result is done at 3 months using an antibody test
