Hi all,
Thank you for your kind words the other day. I just got my test results back at 11 weeks and it was negative . . . relief. I knew the odds were with me but obviously the thought that someone has to be that unlucky one, that 1 in 500 . . .esp on fri 13th!!!!
I dont know what type of test it was, but i trust the hosptial clinic i went to. They said i have to go back at 12 weeks, just for their records, or they look negligent . . . .i have nothing to worry about.
I am travelling back to Africa in June, to the same country where I was assaulted. I can't wait to get back, it is the most beautiful place I have ever been, with the most beautiful people . . .what happened to me could happen anywhere in the world and it is not going to stop me progressing in my career (I am an ngo worker involved with poverty relief, international development, health and education)
All I can do is urge people to respect themsleves. it is not worth the stress that you put your mind and body through when it seems in most cases there is nothing wrong. Use the experience to motivate you to live a more fufulled life, accept the negative result and move on, treat the experience as something that has made you stronger, an extreme learning curve.
'Believe it is possible to solve your problem. Tremendous things happen to the believer. So believe the answer will come. It will.'
This is an interesting quote when we have all expereinced the effects of anxiety on our bodies. you have to keep a strong and open mind in adversity. it is not how you got knocked down, it is how you get back up.
god bless
