Risk of HIV Contraction?

Unprotected sex with a young (20 years old) stranger that I met. Said he was in the military and had been tested for HIV and was negative. I was on my period. There was only one contact about 10 to 15 minutes, no ejaculation.
However, afterwards I used a tampon, and I am worried that if there was any HIV virus it would have longer exposure due to my use of a tampon.
I'm freaking out a little bit. However, I have heard that HIV transmission for one incidence of heterosexual contact is very low. Just looking for some advice and comfort as I bide my time...

NAT tests are NOT stand alone tests.

And are my chances of testing negative increased at all by the fact that there was no ejaculation, or does it not make much of a difference?

Yes, I know... I am just having some serious anxiety here.

Do the NAT tests provide results any earlier than 6 to 8 weeks?

your symptoms are meaningless as far as knowing one's status.

you can test 6-8 weeks post exposure for a good indication of your status, but follow up at 3 months for a conclusive result.
