on my middle finger 36 hours later. I'm not sure if I had the cut before or after. But, am nervous. Can you provide an answer to the following: If the stripper was HIV positive and I had received the paper cut 12 hours before we had a sex, what is the risk of getting HIV from the vaginal secretions on the paper cut?
Thank you.
"HIV isn't so easily transmitted. Minor cuts and trivial blood exposures simply don't create a measurable risk. Like many persons, you seem to think that "just one virus" is enough to transmit the infection. That is not the case. Substantial amounts of infected blood or secretions have to be introduced into the body in a way that exposes certain cells to the virus. If HIV could be transmitted in the ways you are worrying about, AIDS would be 100 times more common than it is. DR. HANSFIELD
hiv can only infect a very few, very specific types of cells. these cells are not found in your finger. if you had a cut on your finger larger enough, open enough and bleeding enough to be a real pathway to cells that hiv CAN infect, believe me, you wouldn't be sticking it into some woman's vagina.
