Risk of hiv

I shake hand with hiv patient in clinic about five minutes after he was using his hand in applying cotton swab against vein puncture after taking blood sample I have wounds in my hand what is the risk if there was blood from cotton swab on his hand and how long HIV virus can live in blood on his hand

You had no risk so it doesn't matter.

Zero risk. Shaking someone's hand, even if they or you or both of you have cuts, scrapes, bruises, scratches or any other kind of wounds do NOT spread HIV. HIV can only infect inside the body, so if you did not share needles with him for IV drug use and you did not have unprotected anal sex with him then you had 0 risk.

Thanks for your reply I did not wash my hand for several hours later if there was traces of his blood on my hand how long would it take for virus to die
