ST/HIV risk?

Dr. Handsfield or Dr. Hook:
Thanks for responding to questions.
I wanted to run a scenario from my experience and would like feedback for risk factor(s) if any apply.

I am a gay male, 25 y/o.  On August 6th,2007, I engaged in some unprotected anal sex, whereby I was the recipient. The providing participant “dipped” me briefly for about 45 seconds or so.  I asked him to put on a condom, and we continued. No less, he never ejaculated. Though I do know that the “dipping” was likely a risk. He also rimmed me, and then performed oral sex on me.

I tested with this Home Access kit at 8 weeks, and 12 weeks. Both were negative.. At the 10th week I got a rapid test done at the Health Dept., which was negative as well.

On Nov. 3rd, I met a new man. Again, I was recipient.  We used condoms and water-based lube. However, since I had not had anal sex since August, it was kind of difficult, and so after about 5-10 minutes I ceased having the anal sex with him. Would I have known if the condom broke? I did see him take it off, and it was to the base of his penis.   I did perform oral sex on this man, but not to completion. He performed oral on me as well, and not to completion. Is that a risk?

Lastly, I believe I had a kidney infection, due to increased back pain, in lower back as well as mid-section. I went to a urologist on Wed. before Thanksgiving. He advised that it may either be a kidney stone or possible prostatitis. Either way I am getting a CT scan done next week. He did put me on Levaquin 500mg for 3 weeks.  If exposed to any bacterial STD from the Nov 3rd incident or August 6th incident, would this have cleared it up?  I was concerned more so about the Aug 6th incident because the man performed oral sex on me after rimming me,…so I did not know if I had some bacterial in the urethra.

I do also want to mention that I was on Zithromax 250 mg at the beginning of Sept for a bronchial infection.

Questions:
1. How likely is it that I contracted HIV?
2. Would the Levaquin/Zithromax have cured any bacterial STD?

Thanks!

I agree with everything except a condom failure. You or your partner would know for sure if the condom failed. He would have known it when he was trying to take it off. As for your testing you have a conclusive negative test.

I see that you answer a lot of questions here...and seem to know quite a bit about HIV.
WOuld you assess my risk?  Do you agree with the Doctor's statements?

apparently a broken condom does not have to be as subtle as most people claim to be.
I wrote a question to this Dr. Hook today and he claims that a condom breaking may not be that subtle. Kinda scary isnt it?

"The easiest thing to do is be in a monogamous relationship with a partner with a clean provable bill of health!"

Not always so true in the gay world.

this isn't the doctor moderated forum.

z-pack will take care of what it needs to, as far as exposure you didn't have one from what you described. The only thing that you stated that was concerning was the first part of your post "unprotected anal sex". Sounds like you learned from this and a got lucky. If these other concerns are going to continue to draw fear to you maybe you should use a different practice or refrain from them until you can handle them mentally. The easiest thing to do is be in a monogamous relationship with a partner with a clean provable bill of health!
