STD or something else?

(Sorry I completly posed this in the wrong forum, I meant for it to be the herpes forum. I really hope you will still answer me, sorry once again.)

Alright this all started a week from last wensday.

I've read around the forums and have seen that you cannot get symptoms the day right after, but I usually felt this pain the day right day after intercourse. Only this time it stayed and got worse.

I was just going to ignore it, but last sunday the lube right under the head that kind of sinks into the body of the penis the little line thing, (I dont know how to describe it) turned red, so I went to see a Doctor. The main reason I'm here is because I'm very worried. I'm a young man, (19) and I don't want herpes for the rest of my long life. The Doctor would not explain what else it might be, he just put me in for a HSV-2 test.

The first week I noticed that urinating relieved me of my pain for a short moment of time (maybe 20 mins?)but now, the pain is still there, (its been 9 days since I first felt pain) but its alot less. I still notice it quite easily. Insead of the urination relieving me of this pain, now sometimes it brings back the pain. The Doctor found nothing in my urine by the way.

I've also noticed that sitting or laying down makes it more painful then walking or standing.

I've had no outbreaks, no discharge (at least I dont think it is, I mean theres dark blemishes but I think I've always had them)and I've never had pain urinating. Sometimes I just have the urge to urinate alot of times, or it feels like I just masturbaited or urinated too hard.

One day earlier this week, I drank a whole gallon of water and had almost no pain what so ever the next day. But the next day it came back slightly more.

I'm just in pain and am worrying, even though the pain has gotten less intense, I think stress over this triggers it even more.

Also the redness went away one day, and came back the other and is currently almost all gone, but theres still pains.

Thanks alot

As you apparently already know, symptoms starting less than 24 hours after sex cannot be due to STD, herpes or anything else.  Further, the symptoms you describe are not those of herpes. Herpes simply does not cause a red rash, except in the form of blister-like lesions that turn pimple-like then open into sores, followed by scabs when they heal. If that did not happen, your problem is not herpes.  And pain on urination, without other symptoms, is not generally due to herpes either.

If the HSV-2 test that is already being done is a blood test, it will be negative; it takes several weeks for the blood test to turn positive even if you have herpes.  If you remain unconvinced, you can have another HSV-2 test in 3 months to prove you didn't catch it. That result also will be negative.

I have no other advice except to follow up with your health care provider if your symptoms continue or if you remain concerned otherwise.  And to remind you to use condoms when you have sex--then you won't need to worry about it at all!

Hey thanks alot for your response, I really feel better now.

I was also wondering if it could probably just be a simple infection? It's been more than 10 days but it's getting even better.

I'm positive I would have noticed blisters on my thing by now.

And I will definitely wrap up from now on.
