Saliva and blood?

I read in an article that saliva can have blood present in it. Does this mean normally or with cuts? I know saliva is not an infectious body fluid, but what about saliva mixed with a bit of blood?

Thanks teak, I was more looking at if someone gave me oral sex or licked an open cut, I know saliva is no risk, but what about saliva mixed with blood? or would there have to be a LOT of blood (lie visible amounts)?

Saliva inhibits HIV transmission. You would not have enough blood in your mouth to have a risk of transmission.
