Scared of hiv/sti infection

currently working in thailand and had sex with two different thai girls 27 march and april 10, i dont return home until april 28. On both these occasions the protection i was using failed, a local doctor has prescribed me 5x 500mg cipro - ciprofloxacin hydrochloride to be taken once per day for five. secondly 20x100mg medomycin/doxycycline to be taken twice daily for ten. Are these medications suitable and do you advise anything else before i can get an sti test when home. What are the risks from these two exposures to catching hiv? i have looked the internet and find that it is worrying me sick. I have no pain urinating, no visible cuts or sores, though can feel some occasional discomfort in my right groin though sometimes wonder if i am possibly imagining it. the glands in my groin seem slightly bigger/harder.

Many thanks in advance for any input or advice.
I shall be much more careful in future as this is quite scary!

theyre not swelling. and if they are its because youre checking them frequently.
the odds of getting hiv from hookers is probably more risky than casual sex with a random girl. you can have sex with a hiv positive partner unprotected and its 1 in 1000 that you get hiv. most sites act like its super easy to get. its not.

test at 3 months. no more hookers.

i would say this is anxiety. The more u think about it the more ur body will react to these thoughts. I know it is really hard but try doing something u enjoy to keep ur mind off it.

Last comment, if you guys could answer i will stop bothering you. I am quite scared tonight as is now 2 weeks since poss exposure last, i feel slightly tingly and i think i can feel a sore throat coming on. I sometimes get a weird feeling in different parts of the body. Is this now the start of ARS possibly or am i just finding things due to my anxiety?
Thankyou so much for the advice, i really appreciate it!
i hope it works out ok and i am negative. Test booked for day 29

Thanks for all the information guys. So I take it my window of oppurtunity for catching HIV although still there is quite small? I certainly wont be making this mistake again.

OH they are much more advanced in testing than they used to be. 10 yrs ago it was 80% 3 months 100% 6 months....good to know.

4 weeks would pick up around 90% of new infection as 6 weeks is is around 95% and 8 is going to be 98%-99% and 3 months is conclusive.

I had a friend in the military came back with an std, but i dont mean to be discouraging. I think you are worrying for no reason, however you should get tested for HIV in 3 months and then again at 6 months. I dont know if you have a problem with OCD or anxiety, but this will make you feel things that arent there. Stop obsessing and never do it again. Its not worth it!

Im a little concerned now as i called a helpline back home just for a bit more advice and they certainly were not encouraging. in fact to be honnest im pretty scared after the lady said theres a very good chance you caught hiv. I mean is it really 1 in 1000. Is hiv not different in asia compared to the west. Oh i am bricking it.
How good a benchmark would a 4 week test be?
