Scared to death about HIV
Hi everyone,
I have been reading through the forums and even though from everything ive gathered my chances of getting HIV are pretty much zero I would still love some feed back.
The deal:
Protected vag sex with a sex worker (unknown status) lasted a few mins, when it was over I remember her pulling off the condom but I have no idea if it broke or anything as I was very drunk and just got out of there right away after it was finished.
I went for my HIV test on the 6th of this month and am still waiting my results, the 6th of this month was the 6 week mark.
My doctor who took the tests told me I have nothing to worry about and I could continue to have sex with my girlfriend if I wanted to without knowing the results. My doctor didnt know it was with a sex worker though, she just knew it was protected vag sex with a person of unknown status. I have been worried to death about this to the point of balling my eys out ...I am very scared of results ......DO I HAVE ANYTHING TO WORRY ABOUT AT ALL? or is it all in my mind?

Well Dumbo ...You could be right ....But I really hope you not .....I woke up this morning with crazy fear and worry again .....this is brutal ......

Thanks for the replay man ...It means alot to have others tell me everthing is going to be okay ....as stupid as that might sound it really does help.
Like I said in my post in my heart I think im gonna be fine ....But in my mind my world is gonna crash down all around me.

Thanks again man, I cheched out that thread ....I guess it all comes down to mind over matter.
Even with everything I have read about it being bascially impossible I still fear im gonna be the 5 in the 5/10000.
I just feel like my whole world is going to crumble around me ...Still waiting on my tests ...I was suppose to go in tomorrow to find out but I called today and they didnt get them yet ...so that means they wont have them for tomorrow .....My new apointment is not till next tuesday ..the waiting and waiting is killing me ....My doctors office did tell me that if they got bad news about my HIV test the lab would have gotten in touch with them so its not that big a deal that they haent got the results ...infact the fact that my doctors office hasnt been contacted is a good sign I guess.
Also I was tested for Hep B at the same time and that came back negative? ...Thats good news but still doesnt convince me I didnt get HIV.
How can I get on with my life while im waiting for the results?

Agreed about ur concerns. What state do u live in? Do this....go to hivtest.org and call their number about public clinic who does Oraquick test. That's what I did yesterday. OR in google search for "hiv rapid test in ur state". Find a clinic and go there. Your results will be back within 20 mintues which will be negative. Then ur old results (regular blood test) will come back within a week. So on that way u will be sure and u r put this thing behind.
And for sure once u get ur test results do not forget to celebrate, but keep ur penis inside, lol.

Also if u would search for "hiv rapid test" there are quite a few sites. One them provide service where testers will come to ur house and perform testing and give u results in 20 minutes. If they are offering service in ur area. Here go to this site

I live in Canada ....My results should be in any day now ...so im just gonna wait it out I guess...

Oh dude Canada!!! man their condoms are not approved by FDA. lol just kidding, don't worry chill. Your results will be negative. Believe in God.

Trust me I do believe in GOD ....Ever since this all happned I have been going to Church ....Praying .....reading the Bible .....completly changed my life.
Chill dude. I was in same situation as you are last month. Instead of sex worker, I had protected intercourse (vaginal/anal/oral) with stripper in the strip club. I was scared just like u. I had fears of "what if" condoms had holes in it....what if right condoms weren't used....how many guys she been with etc etc. Then I read this forum and many others on internet. Bottom line is that as long as u used rubbers and it stay intact u are home free. You have nothing to worry about. I got neg test results at 32 day (4-6 weeks) mark. I am happy and I forgot about that entire incident. Yes, when I had intercourse with stripper, I was also very drunk, but I knew I had condom on and it didn't broke. Only thing I was worried about was I didn't knew what type of condom she used. Don't worry, you will have neg results. But learn from ur mistake, just like I did. Do not have sex with strangers.

Right, don't listen to those what if questions that ur mind is throwing at u. You are feeling guilty of what you did, that's why you are feeling this way. There are many others out there who does what we did and won't regreat about it. Just get tested after day 30 and forget about entire thing.
If this makes u feel better....logically speaking 1 time encounter is not enough to catch hiv. You have to have sex with same person again and again without protection to catch it. So your odds are very low.

No gf here dude. I m not in relationship. But in ur case, go on and have sex with ur gf. If u r still paranoid then use rubbers.
Don't take it personally but if u r not using protection when u r having sex with ur gf, then u do need to get tested regularly (once a year). Coz even tho u trust her, who knows how many guys she been with (before ur relationship and afterwards). Just like u were in relationship but still u visited other services. Same scenario is for ur gf. So its always good to be protective.

Thats good advice....I'll keep that in mind ....Yeah my doctor told me the same thing .....I keep thinking in my head a doctor told me to go ahead and have sex with my girlfriend ...there is no way she would say that if there was any chance of getting HIV ....But my mind still wont let it go .....

That's what they all say...including me. But when you test negative, and as time goes on, you will venture out again. It is inevitable. You had protected sex! If you are worried about that then stay home and toss one off the odd time because it seems protected se is too much for you to handle right now.

hahaha agree with u dumbo. Back last year I did same thing and I said I never do it again till I get married.
But who knows how many guys my wife been with. What after marriage, I saw many wives cheating on their hubby after marriage.
So I regroup and thought about entire scenario logically. It's fear inside....nothing more. It's your mind what's causing stress. But yea, whenever I do it again I will always do it with protection and with woman whom I trust.
