Hello. I posted on the expert forum and received a NO RISK response from the Dr. EWH, which makes me feel 99% relieved! But I was looking for some additional scientific reasons behind the no risk assessment made by the doctor.
I believe the doctor, its just that I'm very detail seeking and any additional details would help me move on.
Basically looking to see what scientific/biological mechanisms that make a cut
HIV is not transmitted by Oral Sex or kissing. Saliva is not infectious and contains over a dozen different enzymes and proteins that inhibit HIV transmission. HIV is not transmitted outside it host.
Dearest Teak,
Thank you for taking the time to answer my question. Yes, I read throughout this forum that saliva is not infectious and has enzymes that inhibit the virus. But I feel my situation could be slightly unique.
A possible cut on lip (2 white dots) from her biting me. Though there was wet kissing that involved saliva, there was also times where our dry lips just pressed against one another. I'm worried that the "dry lip pressing" against one another could have been a route for infection for me. Assuming she was positive and in fact I did have a cut and in fact she had one also. Could you explain?

Under what conditons...well take a razor blade cut your lip open, then cut someone elses lip open and then kiss. It would take a huge cut where you would not be kissing, you would be at the hospital.
I must admit that during the time she bit my lip or the numerous times we kissed, I did not taste any blood or see any blood in my lips/mouth or on her lips/mouth. I'm just worried that there might be a slight possibility that if she bit me or because I have chapped lips (small breaks) and IF she was slightly bleeding and blood from her mouth/lips or saliva + blood would be MASSAGED into a possible wound on my lips or mouth? Is that a realistic concern?
Assuming that happened, would that be a risk? I'm not quite understanding. Am I over analyzing?

Reread the replies you have been given and move along.
I know I'm pestering and I hate too. I know you're an expert and if you could just slightly elaborate a bit more on why the scenario I mentioned is not a risk it would help me move on completely with ease. Please.
I just feel if it's fact then there should be an explanation/reason. That's all I'm asking. And honestly, if I really knew all this, I wouldn't be on here the last two days asking questions. I think what I am asking for is not too much to ask for.
And I really do appreciate the help you guys have given me.
Read what I wrote above for a possible risk situation. As I said I already told you this and Teak is 100% right enough is enough. Gave you answers, gave you reasons and gave you an example of the only way a possible risk could occur and in that case you would not even be kissing so get over it and see a therapist.
Yes, I'm sure you guys are sick of my pressing. I'm just worried her blood could "leak" into my possible cut on my lip? I'm just seeking some rationale. My apologies for any frustration caused. This is equally frustrating for me.
And I told you how that minimal amount of non-existant blood which you have now convincined yourself was there was not a risk and gave you an example of what a real risk would be.
You can't believe us, you can't believe Dr.Hook...who can you believe?
