Balaji 72 ..Intially u said something else and now ur sayng something else which worries me more ....what is ur take on that?? earlier no tests at all and now u should worry till 3 months ???
This is for you Teak posted by Dr HHH and Thanx for all ur help :
Thanks for the clarification. I won't get into a debate with other online resources. However, I will point out that the moderators of MedHelp's international HIV forum agree that a negative combo (duo) test at 4 weeks is just as definitive as a 3 month antibody test. Significantly, those moderators are in the UK, where the combo test has been in use for a few years.
The manufacturers' formal advice (and their FDA-approved interpretation) for antibody-only testing is that it can take 3 months to convert to positive, and many American providers and experts tend to stick with that advice for medicolegal safety -- even though there are solid data for 6-8 weeks. No matter how strong new data may be, the manufacturer of a test may not legally claim a new standard until and unless they conduct their OWN research and submit the results to FDA -- an expensive process, so it rarely happens. (Same thing when drugs are found to work for medical conditions or in doses which were not initially approved by FDA. Some of CDC's own recommendations for STD treatment advise drug doses that are not approved by the FDA.) As long as the manufacturer of a test or drug legally must stick with a certain standard, you can understand why many doctors, health departments, CDC, and other advisors feel compelled to adhere to the same advice.
The combo HIV p24/antibody test has only recently been approved by the FDA for use in the US and there is not yet much clinical experience with it. My understanding is that the manufacturer has FDA approval to claim 99% (maybe it's 99.9%, I'm not sure) reliability 4 weeks after exposure, and I anticipate this interpretation will gradually diffuse to all US based providers and health departments. But it may take a while.
No one has a temperture of 101C. that would be 213.8 F.

Since you used a condom and you had PROTECTED sex, there was NO NEED for testing. Further .. To draw some conclusions based on symptoms is a waste of time. Only 1% of people who show up at the clinic with ARS* symptoms, it turns out that real cause is HIV.
That means that.. The only way to find out your status is to do test. And.. You have shown us clearly that tests for HIV ARE WORKING. Although there was no exposure and therefore there was NO MEDICAL NEED for testing either, except that this result will help you to sleep better.
Cheers
A negative DUO at 35 days is excellent and our expert doctors would concur with that. However, you had no risk so it wasn,t a surprise to receive a negative result.
Guys,
Can anyone throw some light on my problem....as I did for go testing after 35 days of my last exposure... but I am still worried that I might have contracted...does anyone knows that NEGATIVE result of DUO test is good enough or do i need more testing...thanx
The only thing which I can say about you LIZZIE...is THANKS A MILLION FOR SUPPORTING ME THROUGH OUT....I have no other words to express my gratitude...Thanx
Hi Guys ,
Today I got my tests results:
SELF
* HIV EARLY SCREEN
HIV P24 ANTIGEN + HIV ANTIBODIES NEGATIVE NEGATIVE
Test Method(s)
HIV EARLY SCREEN-ECLIA
**End Of Report**
I even went for HIV 1 and 2 test (Antibody for AIDS) which also came out negative...
I hope all these tests are enough to show that I don't have any problems and as all of you said before the fever and sore throat were just because of some infections ...Please do let me know that as per the dates provided about my sexual encounters these tests are sufficient...Thanks for taking your time out and for all your help...
hiv is not deatchs sentence
you no need for hiv test, have to forget about hiv, its true, believe and move on
window period is not the matter for you, just you search in this forum adviced by doctors and experts and all folks who had oral sex will continue to test negative
to know your status you can go a head for any antibody or P24 antigen test and stay negative in future, only for your peace of mind
hope you get the points, dont put yourself stress anymore
Thanx fr ur update..can u help me what test I can go right now for which will help me detecting my status?? as I haven't finished 3 months window period ...and still long way down...
you are not at hiv risk from this exposure,
if really concerned test and collect your negative result, nothing more to add
listen to lizzie, nickone, teak and others in this forum and move on
You have already been told that you had no risk on a previous post and now again on this one, what,s it going to take for it to sink in.How many more times do you want someone on this forum to tell you that you don,t have hiv because you never had a risk and that your symptoms are clearly related to something else.Stop thinking irrationally and start listening,we are here to help you.
oh pleeeeeeez...save the drama ! !
Thanks lizzie for all your help..I may not live for long anyways..as I am planning to end it soon...cyaa.

Lizzie I know I am sick and I was never like that in my life...but I never wanted my life to end like this...I may not be able to face this challenge in my life...as u being a mother of a HIV infected child u know a lot better than others...I my Lympocytes count is also low as compared to normal range of 20-45 and came across this post:
What does low absolute lymphocyte count mean?
by cawley93 » Fri Dec 10, 2010 9:28 am
Well, it could be HIV (actually a low-lymphocyte count wouldn't necessarily suggest cancer, unless we're talking about some particular types of leukemia..)
It could also be malnourishment, you could be recovering from a recent infection, be taking medication which affects your lymphocyte count (such as corticosteroids), or auto-immune conditions.
