If you believe you have been exposed to HIV and want help to judge your risk, would like advice about HIV testing, or have questions about the effectiveness of condoms or risks associated with specific sexual practices, this is the site for you.
i have never tested positive but i was exposed to the virus about 2 months ago. i am also infected with herpes and had a open sore at the time of contact. after 16 hours i was put on PEPs.
after 42 days i was taken off the PEPs (kaletra and combivir) and almost immediatly the sore throat was reduced and the headaches have gotten slightly better. however my arm pits are still sore.
i tested negative at 7 days and 30 days.
my question is, although i was definatly exposed to the HIV virus and i am experiencing all the symptoms of acute HIV syndrome, is it at all likely that i could still not end up with HIV for the rest of my life??
