Seroconversion possible after 8 weeks?

Hi doctor, I tested negative at 55 days with an ICMA antibody test.  I also tested negative at 21 days with a PCR DNA test and antibody, and at 6 weeks with an ICMA antibody.  I was told these ICMA tests were 3rd generation.  At day 58 post exposure I have a fever and headache going on three days now.  Fever is accompanied by night sweats.  Is it possiblel I'm just now seroconverting? Should I test again?  I am 34 white male, no health issues.  Exposure was one minute vaginal.  Thanks for all you do.

Teak - you are probably correct although if it will give him the peace of mind to carry on with his life then it would be worthwhile.

Keep up the good work you do here.

Move along. He doesn't need a DUO test.

I had every single symptom going inc Thrush, ulcers, stomach issues etc.

The best thing to do is take a 4th gen HIV Duo test, majority of Dr's consider it conclusive after four weeks althought the official window period is three months.

You are and will be fine, - relax & try not to worry!!

You really will be fine!!

PCR-DNA Tests
Neither the Abbott RealTime nor the Roche COBAS AmpliPrep/COBAS TaqMan HIV-1 assay is intended to be used as a donor screening test for HIV-1 or as a diagnostic test to confirm the presence of HIV-1 infection.

In an adult, a positive HIV antibody test result means that the person is infected, a person with a negative or inconclusive result may be in the “window for 4 to 6 weeks but occasionally up to 3 months after HIV exposure. Persons at high risk who initially test negative should be retested 3 months after exposure to confirm results

So what do you think about dr hook saying 6 weeks is conclusive?

You are within the window time frame, of course you can seroconvert. Symptoms or lack of will never tell you anything about your status. Obtain your conclusive test result.

I should add I think I've got thrush on my tongue only, although it seems like I have that regularly. Also have an ulcer in the mouth. Had some diarrhea over the last couple of weeks but nothing bad really.  Don't feel as though nodes are swollen. How do you know for certain? is it possible to seroconvert this late? Thanks again

Should have made it clearer. Your symptoms are not ARS symptoms and yes you need to obtain a conclusive test result.
