Simple question, need to move on

Simple question, need to move on

Hello Everyone,

There is an incident that is bothering me and I was hoping that you can help me with. Earlier today when opening the apartment building door I poked my thumb with a small and sharp part of the door knob. The cut was not deep, only several layers of skin were damaged but there was no blood. I`m almost convinced that this is not an issue to worry about but I just need experts comments. Since people use this door frequently, is there a chance that HIV transmits this way, assuming that some another person before me cut his/her hand with the same door knob and possibly left some blood there (I didn't see any upon closer look later)? Sorry for this trivial question but I like to move on and need your help.

Thanks.

hiv is not transmitted through environmental surfaces or inanimate objects.

once exposed to air, hiv becomes inactive and unable to infect.

Hello sorry to disturb..I see you care and help people so I wanted to ask you a question to put my mind at ease..I had hiv test at 85 days and 95 days as I have told in my post...the test at 85 days states= anti.hiv (chemiluminescence or similar)=0.15 negative......and the test at 95 days states anti hiv 1/2=0.03 negative....and the test on the came out in 2 hours...so I pressume this is a rapid hiv test (they have taken my blood)....how accurate are these hiv rapid blood tests?

Hello again, I apologize for keep this post going but I have one final question. I know that once HIV is exposed to air, it is not able to infect but how long does  it take for virus to become inactive? I wouldn't be worried if this door wasn't used so frequently but, what if someone cut his hand with the same door knob not too long (say 2 minutes) before I did? Is this still no risk? Please help. Thanks.
