Today I was at the garden under our apartment and there was a man on the balcony on the 2nd floor. He sneezed so powerful out of balcony (it was a very loud sound!) and as a reflex
I know HIV is not transmitted via saliva, however I wonder if he had some blood in his sneeze, will that put me under risk assuming he is HIV+? And it came on my bleeding injury.
Yuck!. Haha. No my friend, you have nothing to worry about. Think about it. If HIV could be transmitted that way, then the whole world would have it. It simply does not happen like that. As far as blood goes, yes it can transmit HIV under the right circumstances, but you would practically have to have a gaping fresh wound and an extreme amount of HIV infected blood dumped directly into the wound to even begin to worry. I don't know if it is true, but my doctor told me that there have actually been cases where people have received blood transfusions with infected blood and still did not contract HIV.
What makes you think the man had HIV anyways? Less than one percent of the US population is infected with HIV and many consider that to be a highly conservative number.
You are ok my friend. Go have some fun and enjoy life.
Remember, ALWAYS USE CONDOMS WHEN HAVING SEX outside of a monogomous relationship. Never approach sex pros (CSW's) or the like for sex. Just use your hand and save some money. LOL, just joking. I know you didn't engage in any of these activities and don't deserve the lecture, but I feel that it is my responsibility to pass on these warnings to everyone who will listen. I would like to see this disease erradicated. Too many have been lost.
