So paranoid..

by Girl2550, Nov 29, 2007 10:38AM
I took antibiotics (Flagyl) in the beginning of September 07. After I took it I got a yeast infection. (I had never had one before). It went away after taking fluconazole.

About Nov 5th I got another yeast infection. The dr prescribed me fluconazole tablet. I took that and it did not help. Then she prescribed me another fluconazole and Monistat 7. I still had slight itching and wanted to make sure it was really gone. (no discharge)

She found a couple spores and gave me a treatment of Terconazole. She said that Fluconazole and Monistat don't cure all yeast infections.

I am worried that i have HIV because all of the websites online say that a persistant yeast infection is a sympton.

I am a 22 year old female. I have always used condoms when I have sex. Except, with my current partner (fiance) and he is HIV negative..

Should I be worried? I can't even sleep or think about anything else!
I am going to get tested anyways. But, I would just like some fedback! thanks

You have no reason to worry about. If you have not have unprotected sex anywhere else except with your committed partner, you are safe. Do not think to much about symptoms, they do not mean much and also, yeast alone is not necessarily due to HIV, better talk to your doctor, she will be the best person to explain it to you.

Remember, nobody can give something he does not have, same goes with your boyfriend, since he does not have HIV,, so why to worry, relax and enjoy your life.

If what you stated before is it, then you don't have anything to worry about. Take a deep breath and if you haven't had a test in awhile, why don't you and your fiance test together? I know you said he was negative, but doing it together will give you someone to hold onto while you wait for the results and you will both know your status for sure.

Thanks! I guess i was just worried I could have gotten it from someone even when using a condom! I feel alot better though.
