Someone on another board says its sounds like I have it!!!

Ive posted a few times trying to find out as much information as possible. Someone on another board says it does sound like I'm having HIV symptoms. I've been having swollen lymph nodes in neck, groin, armpit

The comment has totally, totally freaked me out

thank you for looking at this. That has completely knocked me back. I do have swollen, painful nodes in my neck and my groin and armpits. Although it just seems to be 1/2 in each place. I dont know anything else that causes generalized lymph nodes!!!!

About 1000 other things can cause lymph node enlargement. Sometimes, you never know what caused it.

I had a flu (well it was more like the cold) a week later, but its gone now. I now have no flu symptoms other than these nodes. I am absolutely petrified

Well.........I Must Have HIV Too, then. Severe Fatigue, Lymphadenopathy (least 5 Confirmed places) Oh Well............. I'll Ignore the Negative Test to 6 Months.
Acutely Swelling Nodes CAN Be Painful, or May NOT. MAY Be There or NOT. Whatever.
THERE IS NO WAY YOU CAN DIAGNOSE HIV EXCEPT WITH A TEST!!!!!!!!!!!! Get it.
There are Loads of vIruses, Like EBV, CMV, Adenovirus etc that Cause Lymphadenopathy. The Fatigue Can Last Like 4 MONTHS, or Even Longer. Especially with STRESS.
Iv Been Through it. I Stil Feelin Hot, On the Edge, Have Shotty Nodes 8 Months Later.
All I Know, I'm Not 100% yet, But Its not HIV!!!!!!!!!  Concentrate on Recovery, It takes Time!! Forget HIV.

thank you so much! it helps to know someone else has had these swollen nodes with a negative test. I'm panicky because I've never had them before. I plan on testing on Friday which will be 4 weeks. How accurate is a 4 week test. I know they say 3 months but I've read a lot about 6 weeks etc

you could test now and it would be accurate. Expect a negative. oral is now/low risk.

Iv Never Had Node Swelling Before in my ENTIRE life either!!!!
4 weeks too Early, Don't Bother.
Wait at LEAST 2 Weeks to 6 (HHH Conclusive)

Have you been to an actual doctor, or are you just concentrating on HIV?  

How do you know you don't have something else, such as lymphoma or other serious disease?  Not saying you do, but I can't stand the way people assume that HIV is all that they have to worry about.  If you are seeing a doctor, let the doctor decide what you need to be tested for, if anything.

Dr Bob didnt answer my question which worried me incase he thinks I have it!! But then I guess he gets so many questions.

I feel if I get tested at 4 weeks and its negative it might help put my mind at rest a little

I have seen a doctor but Im in a different country just now and the language barrier was difficult. He said it may be remnants of a cold I have a few weeks ago (also worried me). I assume the worst in all situations :(

Unprotected Oral is Low to Non-Existant Risk. Most Would Say Don't Bother Even Testing!!!!

However, I feel your Anxiety, so i'm replying. When you Have Gen. Lymphadenopathy, its INCREDIBLY hard to believe, However Non-existant Risk. Guess We all Have to Have Swollen Gland Some Time in Our Lives, We were Unlucky with the Timing!
If you Go Friday Expect Negative.

Nodes can Swell for Lots of Reasons, and Stay up for Months, Even Never Fully Go Dwn=Shotty nodes. No Doubt U gt Something, it's probably Viral, But Not HIV.

I just took my test today at 7 weeks and have to wait until next week for the results. I guess the best thing to do is to have as possitive an outlook as you can. Just the fact that I got tested has already relieved some of my anxiety even though I don't know yet what the results will be. Either you have it or you don't. I've already read of more than one person who has lived over twenty years with HIV, which if you look at it, is a long time. Its really not a death sentence. That's how I'm trying to look at it. I don't have the generalized lymph swelling.... I don't know why. My nodes seem to come and go as they wish, but my arms haven't done anything since my groin area began acting up, so I don't know what that means. Reading these sites won't really do anything for your anxiety, because as long as you have the symptoms the anxiety will remain. As you can see from others here, even if you get tested some of the anxiety remains, but at least the testing provides reassurance. Like Isaac said, if you test negative, just "Conentrate on Recovery".

Dr. Bob didn't answer your question because he gets thousands in a day.  I have already told you in your numerous private messages to me that you do not have HIV.  Bonita doesn't know what she was talking about, so stop listening to her.  You have no significant symptoms and no HIV, period.  Your exposure doesn't even warrant testing or being called an exposure.

My nodes that swell, swell for a few days then go away. Then new ones do the exact same! I dont have any nodes that have swollen and stayed that way

Don't Try and Diagnose. Symptoms Don't Mean SH*T.
Lets the Dr's Try. Even Then, You May Never Find Out if it's Viral. Mine MAY of been EBV/CMV/Adenovirus They Said, 6 Months LATER!! Because I wasted so much time on HIV. It was too Late to Truly to find out.
Sooooooo, It May be Something they Can easily Diagnose and Treat. Other STD's are much More transmittable. Get a Full STD Check/Dr's Evaluation. Dont Waste Energy Trying to Diagnose, Get the HIV test for Peace of Mind.

Lol... "Slap you through the computer" is funny. I laughed at that too. As for person's living with HIV since 1981, since my last post I read about someone who was born with HIV and is now 26. I never knew people who were born with the disease lived that long. And you're right, I kinda believe that they probably will find a cure pretty soon. Its not impossible to think that that can happen. I'm actually kind of glad for these last few weeks of guilt, worry and extreme stress ( not trying to be funny, just so happens your names describe what I'm going through... and I guess what your going through as well ), but I learned a lot about HIV that I didn't know and it has removed my prior perception of the disease and people who live with it.

Have your nodes actually been confimed by a doc. as swollen or are you just assuming they are swollen? I was convinced I had swollen nodes I never went to the doc. though and I had a neg. antibody test at about 5 months post. Now looking back on it I don't even think I had swollen nodes it was just all in this crazy head of mine!
