OLD thread.....look at the dates before you post!!!
I just pulled this from UCSF, so it is pretty common but obviously many people have S. Aureus anyways.
Dermatologic Manifestations of Staphylococcus Aureus
Staphylococcus aureus is the most common cutaneous bacterial infection in persons with HIV disease. Approximately 50% of HIV-infected persons are nasal carriers of S. aureus, explaining in part the high rate of infection.(4,5) Infection with S. aureus may occur before any other signs or symptoms of HIV infection. Morphologic patterns that may occur include: bullous impetigo, ecthyma, folliculitis, hidradenitis-like plaques, abscesses, cellulitis, and pyomyositis.(6)
Enough.. were done with the 101 questions. You know when you are to test let that give you your answers.
You don't get acne with HIV.
i did they said it was flea bite but i have no dogs. the doctor would know if the acne/bump had something to do with hiv?
If you have a concern about acne see a dermatologist.
i have the same looking acne now
But its on the back of her neck and shoulder and chest. Hiv does not cause Staph. Aureu?
Staph. Aureus is common among the skin flora of the majority of people. MRSA is present on around 2% of people admitted to hospital (only based on the hospital I work at), and is in no way connected to a person's HIV status.
Stop being paranoid about your poor girlfriend's acne. And stop reading symptoms online. The human brain makes connections between obscure things, it isn't productive.
could this be Folliculitis due to hiv? I have the same sysmtoms acne type pumps that pop up on my arms and back
