Strep Throat or HIV??

Hi,  I am extremely nervous to go to the dr so if you can help that would be wonderful. Back in January I was fooling around with this guy I was seeing.  He only performed oral sex on me, but there was a time when he tried to go inside me.  He started to put the head in but I stopped him and told him I wasn't ready just for that.  This past week (March 21) I started getting a cold, but now I am over the cold (still coughing up flim though) and I started experiences swollen glands and my tonsils are extremely swollen.  I woke up severe times during the night to myself snoring.  But there are some other things too.

1) I bit the inside of my cheek repeatly this week, causing a small bump and cut where my tooth keep bitting down.  My left tonsil (the side where I bit my cheek) is extremely swollen and my my whole neck on that side, all the way up to my ear, hurts and is very tender.  My other tonsil looks a little red and a little swollen but my neck doesn't really hurt that must.  And you can see the difference between the two.  The swollenness is mostly from the front to the left side.

2) I got re-baptized on Sunday in which I had to be total submerged until water.  I had sweats on and a swimming cap, but when my hair still got water in the back.  My mother was upset because I didn't have a hat to put on when I was leaving the church, and she said I was going to get sick, but I told her my roots weren't really wet, and it wasn't that long o a walk to get to the car.

3) Wednesday I started talking funny because I couldn't bit down anymore.  Thursday I started have swelling in my throat and my mother said just to gargle with salt water, peroxide and water, and listerine.  Friday I woke up in complete pain, and didn't go into work.  Gargled all day.  Pain went down some. Couldn't really sleep last night though because I was snoring.  Today its still swollen on the left side.

My question is, even though we had the talk about his  hiv status and he was negative, could he have lied and when he tried to insert (maybe two or three secs) that I was infected?  I ask because I have never had swollen tonsils or gland like this that I can remember.  I don't feel sick, it's just my tonsils and my glands on the left side.

You were not penetrated so you don't have a concern for contracting HIV.
