Stupid, embarrassing unprotected oral sex from prostitute/drug addict

Dear Doctor,

I am terrified!  On September 7, 2011 after drinking in a bar I picked up a prostitute/drug addict to perform oral sex on me.  Two days later, I began experiencing painful urination.  Two more days after that, I noticed some blood dripping after the painful urination.  I went to my PCP and he took a culture from the tip of my penis and prescribed me a regimen of zithro and metronidazole.  After about 4 days, the painful urination diminished but the blood dripping after urination continued for 3 days after the burning stopped.  Aside from the burning and blood, there was a soreness near the tip of my penis.  It only hurt if I brush against it or laid on it while sleep, and it really hurt when erect and throbbing.  That physical pain has also diminished now but it lasted longer than the other symptons.  My doctor's office called a week after the culture sample was taken and asked for me to come in to submit a urine sample.  My doctor said that the lab results from the initial sample were inconclusive according to the lab.  Now I'm waiting for the urine sample results but have began having flu-like symptoms.  Runny nose and a slight fever are what I'm experiencing right now.  I have a hard time sleeping becuase I'm scared.  I've been browsing the web and it seems to be a consensus among experts that receiving oral sex is a low to no risk activity as far as transmission of the HIV virus.  However, it makes me wonder as to why is it possible to get gonorrhea from receiving a blow job but not HIV.  I'm hoping that these symptons I'm experiencing (i.e., sinus, fever, slight headache) are not indicative of infection.  This is a little after 2 weeks of the incident.  I feel horrible for the stupidity of my actions and guilty because I'm a married man.  While I'm waiting on the urinalysis, what is the possible condition?  Thank you.

gonorrhea is spread by contact...hiv is not.   two different modes of transmission.

hiv is not transmitted through oral sex.
