Suggestion for answers

by pablo_papito, Nov 05, 2009 03:08PM
I suffer from Anxiety an OCD. I know how the people here FELL their aflictions. It would be extremely helpful if the people who are providing the answers elaborate a litlle. Considering you are helping so many people I think it would not hurt to have a text (even a copy paste one) explaining a little WHY this or that situation is not a risk. You cannot imagine how much relief you would provide.

Nevertheless, I congratulate everyone who is part of this website and give their time to help your next fellow.

God bless you all.

This is a HIV Prevention forum; not an OCD forum. If you need explanations then you can find them in the archives of both HIV prevention forums.

He has a legitimate point. Many sites like thebody.com and experts say that blood-skin contact is a risk factor and so do the doctors on this forum. I still haven't figured out why the experts say it is not a risk so surely and dismissively. I haven't found any supporting evidence in the archives either. The only reason I've found is that we bleed out when we bleed and that stops the flow of pathogens coming in. However, I have never read that on any other medical forum or the CDC website.

The doctors on this forum do not say that blood on skin is a risk, even with common cuts and scrapes.

When cuts occur they start to heal inside instantly through the clotting process, which prevents pathogens from getting into the circulation.

We do not get into arguments with other experts/websites; all we do here is educate on the real, verified risks for HIV transmission.

Thank you for your concern in answering me, both of you, really. I just wanted to express a feeling and an opinion.

I know that repeat the same answers over and over might be a pain in the a..., anyway though, if anyone here ARE effectivelly going to answer something, it could be a little more specific, like you are in your answers Joggen, or Nursegirl, or Lizzie (I´ve read LOTS of answers of yours, thank you very much).

I´ve searched both foruns and I really found an answer to my question on HIV, but some people here just say NO, PERIOD, regardless the fact they are adressing answers to people (aka human beings) who are maybe very sad and incapacitated by their fear, and it would not hurt to help a little bit more.

Just expressing myself.

Godspeed
