Swollen Glands

I had vaginal intercourse with a man I did not know about 4+ years ago.  I believe we used protection, but I am not 100%.   I was tested for STDs about 6 weeks after the incident (not HIV tested though) and all tests came back negative,  Within the past week, the glands in my neck, underarms and right side of my groin have been swollen (I can feel them when I push on them) and I am very tired.  I have been researching HIV and now I am terrified that is what it is!!!! I know I should get tested.  Any other advice?

So, you are worried about HIV, but not worried enough at the time about putting your then new husband at risk? You answered the question by saying ''I know I should get tested.'

Dont let this get in the way of your marrige. I suggest you go get tested tommorow at the clinic with a rapid test to put it 100% out of your mind forever. These kinds of things can make a relationship shaky.

Thanks... I am driving my husband nuts too.. I met him a few months after the incident and my husband doesn't have any symptoms of anything.   I need to calm down; my nerves are probably affecting my glands!!!!

Its way too late after the fact to be worrying about these symptoms. Swollen glands usually happen in early HIV. Plus if you havent been diagnosed with swolen glands then you are juts speculating. Stop researching on the internet before you go crazy.

Heres the simple solution, go to the local clinic tommorow and get a rapid HIV test, you can be in and out with conclusiove results in under an hour. Problem solved.
