Hi, yesterday in the afternoon I felt a small swelling in the left side of my neck, right behind the ear, went to the doctor he has identified the same as a swollen lymph node, just wanted to ask

1)whether ARS can show up after 8/9 days after exposure???
2)Can the incidence be related to HIV ???

As I said to you in your earlier post, swollen lymph nodes can be caused by nearly 100 different conditions...including the common cold!
Symptoms generally appear 2-4 weeks post infection.
But I keep telling you you'll be fine:)

Thanks dobber, the reason I'm concerned is because I have never developed swollen lymph node ever in my life time before and when you say ARS can occur 2 weeks after the infection....8 days after infection is exactly the starting of the second week right???

I've already got my blood sample submitted for a DNA PCR test, i'll be getting the results on saturday, I'm keeping my fingers crossed, the doc told me there's nothing to worry but I'm just getting nervous thinking about it cuz I've already developed most of the ARS symptoms
1) Swollen Lymph node behind the left ear
2) My Arm pit gives me a tingling sensation
3) Couple of boil like thing on the right side of my tongue
4) my tongue appears more white than ever before

I'm just convinced that I've contracted the disease....I'll keep you guys posted on the result.

Mike, I've tried to help but you're not listening so I'm going to stop replying. I guarantee you that you have experienced a swollen lymph node many, many times before in life. You just haven't been focusing on it.

Don't get a PCR, they are notorious for false positives, they will solve nothing and then where will you be? I'm telling you, your risk was extremely low. Dr. H would not even advise testing over this incident. Honestly.

But you're not listening to a word I'm saying so I'm going to stop trying.

I guarantee you, if you spoke the truth about your risk, that you will test negative:)

Oh and one final thing, NONE of those symptoms are HIV specific. NONE.
No fever, no rash, no night sweats. But now that I've mentioned them you'll probably develop every one!
