Swollen Tonsils and Oral

Hi,

Recently I had an exposure whereby I performed oral for a few minutes without ejaculation.  I am pretty certain there was pre-cum.  Within 3 days, I had developed a sore throat and huge swollen tonsils with white splotches all over them.  I have seen where white splotches can be indicative of HIV.  I went to my Doctor.  He did a strep test and also tested for mono.  He did not think it was mono, because I am 37 and he said it is highly unusual to have mono at my age.  Mono proved negative.  As did strep.  He gave me a round of antibiotics and it all cleared up.  He left it rather nonspecific.

When I was performing oral, my partner's penis hit the back of my throat several times.  I have heard that the back of the throat is a more likely place to get HIV.  But I also heard this would be unlikely to show in 72 hours.

Is this something I should test over?  My Doctor never raised testing.  On this site, Dr. Hook seems to give me comfort that this would not likely be HIV (or any STD via oral other than Gonorrhea or nonspecific Urethritis in most cases).

I am just worried because of the "back of the throat" thing and the fact that I never get white splotches like that and we never really confirmed what it was...the meds just worked.  Could HIV be the culprit?

Thanks for your help.

Wow!  That was a fast answer.  Thank you for coming back so quickly.  I guess my mind was just spinning because there was no specific cause of the white spots and tonsils, but my Doctor said tonsils are a front line in viruses and bacterias and almost any infection can set them off.

I guess HIV wouldnt really manifest within 2 days anyway....from what I've read here.

Thanks.
