Take a test 3 months post exposure. Symptoms do not sound HIV related and you can never use symptoms as an indication.
Use condoms all of the time until in a committed relationship and both people have already tested.
why not post this in the HIV forum : )
What wishforanswers said. Also you can go to your doctor and tell him/her what's going on and see, if for the mean time, something else unrelated might be going on.
I would be concerned. I don't know about the tonsils being a symptom, but you might as well go get treatment for that in the meantime. I believe that the earliest you can test for HIV after an encounter is 3 weeks, but it could be longer. I would get yourself tested every few weeks for at least six months to make sure you've ruled it out. Most cities offer free HIV testing. And please, for the love of God, don't have any more unprotected sex!!
