Symptoms

Ok so I should not talk about symptoms, but I am going to . Past 5 weeks sore throat transitioning to swollen glands in the neck. Gingivitus and white tongue on going. I have tried to control the gingivitus which came in at week 3 and is still with me. Does anyone know of a good way of controlling this kind of symptom, pill lotion, mouthwash. I am using a product called Corsodyl. Is there anything else to use? There are more symptoms, but these are the ones that bother me the most.

I am still counting down the days for the 3 month test. Its a long long wait.

Thanks in an advance for any help here. I realise this is an HIV testing forum, but any advice on how to live with this 3 month window is appreciated.

thought about doing that a lot. But I know that that would not be worth it for me as I would doubt it. In the UK the GUM clinic is going to test me at 12 weeks. Most everybody on this forum suggests 12 weeks, although 8 is also quoted as being as good as. 3 months is conclusive I have been told, so that's what I am going with. I tested at 27 days and 13 days. For the 27 days it was an HDUO test, which came back neg. However the HDUO may not be as accurate for a couple of reasons. One it may be too early and the P24 antigens nor antibodies may not be present after all and also as Teak has pointed out in an article he posted in an earlier thread there is a window of non detection for that type of test. Any way the upshot is that although I was neg which made me happy as I was very low indeed, there is sufficiant doubt in my mind to not believe that result. I have symptoms like I said. So I am going to live with this until the 3 month mark as hard as that is proving to be. I'll see what the dentist has to say about the white tongue and gingivitis.

Sorry to go on about this Teak. My thinking is that these symptoms are just that. I will make an appointment to see my dentist next week, but what do I say to him. "I think I have HIV? that's where this comes from?" prety much the same reason I don't go to my local doctor for any other symptom.

None of this sounds like HIV in terms of some on this forum who get flu symptoms and are laid up for days in bed with a temperature and so on - I feel for them and you Teak for that matter as you are +ve. But not everyone reacts to that extent to HIV when they get it. That is my worry. All I know is that none of this "stuff" was with me before and now it is.

I'll make that appointment with the dentist tomorrow for next week and see what they come back with when they take a look. Its the mental torment that is getting me down.......:-(

See your dentist. If you have gingivitis he'll prescribe you with medication.
