TEAK- The person that tested me..

Teak,.

A person that tested me was a new HIV counselor....
But crazy question here for ya...
I did one of those UniGold Orasure finger tests.. He kept wiping my finger with the alcohol pad as he was trying to put the blood sample into the little tube that collects it.   Does the alcohol kill the antibodies or have an effect on the test?
I believe he set the timer @ ten minutes.  Is it not suppose to be 20 minutes?

Thank You.

You can't kill antibodies.  They are not alive, so you can't kill them.

Agree with Leah.  They are just disinfecting the area they are taking the blood from.  You are negative.  Congrats.

I am not Teak, but I want to let you know that I had that test done before. They always wipe the area off with an alcohol pad to clean it.....it does not get rid of the antibodies, if the test said negative, you are HIV negative. Congrats!!! Try to move on!
