Teak, I have a question for you

by Iwanttolive, Aug 11, 2007 07:50PM
I read something where you stated you've never had a problem with canker sores/mouth sores. Is this true? If so, do you even have HSV-1?

I also want to know your experinces with HIV having an impact on your mouth. Meaning have you ever suffered from Thrush, dry mouth, and mouth sores?

No I don't have cold sores and yes I have HSV1 and yes I have had thrush before, even before I ever was HIV positive.

Do you ever get depressed over your situation? From reading your comments it appears you handle having HIV/Aids as well as a person can handle something like that. You don't seem like the jolly type, but you seem to enjoy life. What keeps you going in such an almost joyful approach towards life?

No, I don't get depressed, you can't fix it, why get depressed about it? Yes I have anxiety, jut like everyone else, but it has nothing to do with HIV. Your life doesn't stop just because you have a disease, you have to go on living. Yes, I'm a very happy person, I enjoy life.

No, I didn't get them mixed up. I don't get cold sores and canker sores had some before I got dentures. No, Iwanttolive, a cold sore and a canker sore are totally different. Cold sores (HS V1) are contagious  and canker sores are not.

No, HSV1 does not cause canker sores, it causes cold sores. Yes you can cause a canker sore from biting the in inside of your jaw. You can get canker sores on any soft tissue inside your mouth.

So HSV 1 doesn't cause canker sores? Man, I still don't know if I've had a canker sore. I know sometimes I bite down on different parts of my jaws, and sores develope. I always just called them canker sores. Now I'm confused.
