Teak, how to become a LTNP? or it is NATURAL? or u undergo some intensive care? like eat healthy food ONLY...never had a beer or pizza kind of lifestyle?
You went 20yrs without meds. I always thought U had to take them as soon as U found out.
There were meds in the 80's. AZT was the common med and it probably killed more people than the virus itself.
Being a LTNP, you don't start meds. I went 21 years without the need to start meds. You do not contract HIV through oral sex or hand to gental contact.
Dont think there was any meds back in the mid 80s
TEAK, did you only start taking MEDs once you progressed further with the disease? Did you not start takign them from day one? Have you personally ever met anyone in your travels that got HIV through oral sex or hand to gental contact? I applaude the work you do here on the board. Many thanks. God bless.
Teak,
I hope all stays well for you. Also, thank you SO MUCH for all that you do for the board. You really helped me, and I'm just one person. Consider all that you help! You are amazing and again, thank you. --ME
Yes, I'm on meds and have been for two years. Yes, it's possible for someone with HIV to never proceed to AIDS if taking HAART and it's possible for those that have AIDS and taking HAART to live out a normal life span.
He was asymptomatic.
LTNP - Long time non progressor.
"i would like 2 hear his story.. there's alot stuff online saying that HIV positive is not always lead to AIDS... is it true?"
Yes, it all depends on the viral load and CD4 counts, an HIV + individual, if takes his drugs diligently and the drugs work for him he can live a long and healthy life.
What kind of symptoms did you have Teak? Stay healthy.

He was a LTNP, he's in the advance HIV stage now, due to god's grace his CD4 counts have gone up, he's been taking his cocktails diligently.
