Teak or Mike...is Blurred Vision an ARS symptom?

Today my right eye for about an hour was experiencing almost a double vision type sensation.

77 days (80 with a take home). I hate the internet. I begin to read about subtypes/strains/etc. and then think that I have a different one (A/E, etc.) that has a late seroconversion (even though I think I read a contrary report stating many more antibodies in E at 3 months then B, etc.). Then the other side of my brain tells me that "symptoms" don't mean squat. Then the "symptoms"/internet side takes over...only 4 more days i suppose.

That doesn't make sense in the least. I'm not even sure what a "6 week/12 week" even is, to be honest. Not trying to patronize but I should think my answer was quite clear. Well, anyways, again: I have tested negative with a OraSure oral test at 77 days and a take home blood test at 80 days because, of course (as mentioned by peekawho above), I could not (and I suppose, currently) believe the oral was conclusive for a low (some say non) risk event.

Don't we all wish we will be ones who turn out negative.

Jag-How long have you waited to get tested?

Agree with above. Hope I'm just in that 95%. 80 days and counting. Probably very little chance of seroconverting at this point, but the "symptoms" were too strange.

Bluebell--I said 95% of the people who DON'T have HIV come back here for months, thinking they do have it..

Let me tell you what usually happens when you hear you are negative (at least, from the extreme people we see here):

The first day or so, you will be insanely relieved.  You will post how you are fine, and that you won't be back.  In a couple of days, you'll post that you still don't feel well, and "could the test be wrong" , or "did I test too early"?

You'll spend a lot of time bolstering the arguement that the test was wrong, and/or you tested too early, or that you think you are just one in a million that the test didn't work for.

Then you'll have a few more tests.  Time will pass.

Eventually, you will come to believe the result.

Bluebell et all---it happens every day here.  Just scroll back and read about 1000 posts where this exact scenario is repeated over and over.

The reason I post so much is also becuase I had to quit my job last week because I thought I was moving out of state but it fell thru.

I cant find a new job now because my mono has wiped me out to the point I can barely get out of bed, I cant drive and my mom has to come over every day to help me out with cooking etc.

So I lay in bed all day with my laptop, worrying i have HIV. So that is why I post so much...boredom and fear :)

I was planning on going to get a rapid test tomorrow.  I will let you know ASAP. I hope I can say that I am negative.  That will be a relief.

Also, I wouldn't worry to much about the ARS symptoms.  I've heard Mike say that they usually all come together (fever, rash, swollen lymph nodes)..

when did you have your test done?  It will take until FRIDAY?  WOW, that's a long time. Is it the RNA test that you are waiting for???

Just curious-- Are you on this forum because of possible exposure to the virus?

How do you KNOW she will not test positive??  How bout me?  *laugh* just kidding.

I had my RNA blood drawn test two days ago on Friday and they say I wont find out until next Friday :(

Peekawho, believe me, if I am negative after hearing the RNA test I will feel such a sense of relief because that test is what blood banks use and it will tell me if I have the virus.

Why do you say 95% of everyone here will test positive. Was it Teak that said nobody on these boards has ever tested positive (yet) ?

I have severe anxiety over this issue and I dont mean to offend or annoy anyone. I am glad there are these forums because I can ask all my questions that you might think are dumb, but they mean something to me. I have NOBODy to talk to about this except all of you.

You won't be positive.

You also won't believe it.  You'll be back, just like 95% of the other posters here who don't have HIV.  You'll invest an incredible amount of time, money, worry. and emotional energy into thinking you have this disease.

My guess is you will waste about 4 more months on this.  Seems about par for the course here.

No, blurred vision is not an ARS symptom.  You do know that Teak had no symptoms, don't you?
Symptoms mean nothing.  On the maternal/child forum, ladies there every single day have every single symptom of pregnancy even if they aren't pregnant.  They just believe they are pregnant, and along comes the nausea, vomiting, breast tenderness, fatigue, and weight gain.

When they get a negative test AND believe the result, it usually goes away.

The mind is a powerfu thing.  Plus. you have mono, which will give you nearly all of the symptoms you describe 10 times a day here.

I get my results Friday. I am so scared. I just have a feeling they are going to be positive.

Everyone is telling me 3.5 weeks negative test means nothing.

I dont know why but I have this feeling of absolute dread.

Dont your results come in tomorrow? I hope you post them right away so I can be inspired when I see your negative result :)

Hey there.  I used to work for an eye doctor and I know that blurred/double vision can be caused from different things.  (long computer use being one of them).
Stress can take a toll on our bodies.

You get your results back tomorrow, right?  I am going to keep you in my prayers.

You know looking at a computer screen for long amounts of time can effect your vision.
