Test question

Hi, i tested at with 4th generation test at 4/5 weeks after suspected exposure, which was negative, how accurate would these results be? I am due to take the same test next week, which will be 11 weeks after suspected exposure, IF results are negative again, could i then say that was a conclusive result? The reason i ask is because i have read that ther can be a period where the body stops making antigens and hasnt started making antibodies yet around the 4 week mark, i apologise if my question seems silly.

The need for a repeat HIV test if still within the window period after a specific exposure should be discussed. Although fourth generation tests shorten the time from exposure to seroconversion a repeat test at three months is still recommended to definitively exclude HIV infection.

Hi,
a 4th generation test is accurate. You can confirm the result for the peace of mind at 3 months after your last exposure. Keep calm
