Test result

by kennedygondwe, Nov 09, 2009 08:35AM
I went for HIV test and using the rapid test kit which shows two lines i.e one above the control line when you are positive, my results showed very faint line above the control line and  the doctor asked me if i have had viral infection such flu in few past days , i surely had flu since the last seven days and havent fully recovered. he interpreted that the faint line which i could hardly see might be as a result of the flu infection since the test doesnt test availability of HIV in the blood but presence of antibodies for viral infection and has advised me to go for thourogh test after two weeks. Now am worried , should i say am HIV positive or wait until i go for another test? what can i do at the mean time? is it that the HIV is just developing? Help me please

test again to know your status.

no one is ever considered positive until they have a positive antibody test followed up by a western blot to confirm.
