The CCR5 delta 32 gene, and you have never heard of this? I am very surprised indeed. The attempted infection took place in a lab in the UK and AUS from blood samples from both men.Like I said it was established that once there blood samples were infected with the Hiv virus, the virus itself could not latch onto the t-cell helpers and therefore the virus became inactive.
I wasn't speaking to you about the cure, that was directed at another poster.
Bottom line is, there IS NO CURE for HIV and it is not right to put that info out there as if there is.
I was asking YOu about this guy from Melbourne who the medical community tried to infect, I will research that.
Nurse, when did I ever suggest there was a cure,I said there are a small percentage of people who are immune to Hiv infection--fact.Watch the doco HIV and ME by stephen fry and there is a man in his 50's that has this gene and has had several unprotected high risk exposures, his blood was also infected by Hiv in a laboratory setting and it wouldn't latch on to his T-cell helpers. That was a fact. Also, you obviously didn't here about the bone marrow transplant patient in germany,I'm surprised at that.It was world news. This guy from melbourne can't be infected with Hiv and that is also a fact.
There is no cure for HIV and no one has been cured. Please do not spread false information.
Tell me Rain, how do they test for this gene? And how did they try to infect this person? How was that legally permitted? I am very interested in this case.
True,it's always about money.
Good question haha. Truly beats me. I think rapid testing is more cost effective for smaller clinics.
Not having a dig at the USA,but how is that a country that is a super counrty and possibly the greatest nation in the world not have embraced the DUO like the UK and AUS where it has been so useful and accurate at such a short time frame, this has got me stumped.
You need to test but these people are as rare as hen's teeth.
Thats how they cured a guy in Berlin germany. I think we found the cure just need to find a way of delivering it.
Lucky son of a *******. How would you know if you had it? lol
Yes,they do but only 1% on the population is immune to Hiv and they carry a particular delta gene that doesn't allow the virus to attach to the CD4 cells.Luckiest people in the world,I actually met a guy in Australia who has this gene and has had several unprotected exposure with Hiv+ people and never been infected. They even tried to infect is blood sample with Hiv in a lab in melbourne with no sucess.
Thats what i thought. I Think some guys have risky behavior after the test thinking their immune. No one is Immune.
It doesn't happen at all with modern testing. That was a thing of the past.If an Hiv DUO can indentify 99.89% of infections by 4 weeks how is it possible then that it would take 6 Months to test positive.Maybe 20 years ago but not now.
A TEST AT 3 MONTHS IS CONCLUSIVE
