Testing question on Potential Exposure

Dear Dr. Handsfield,

I had a potential exposure to HIV ( 2 protected vaginal and 2 unprotected oral receptive). Beginning of 6th week I had a mild fever for a day only in the evening, sore throat and tiredness. My doc said it may be viral. In a few days I saw a few red/pink color area on my trunck area that came and went within a few hours for a day. I did a DNA PCR proviral and an antibody test on the 48th day. The test results came back negative. I'm mentally stressed since. Should I redo the test or I can rest in peace.

Teak, neverthless is DNA test conclusive after 48 days?

PCR-DNA tests are NOT approved to diagnose HIV infection. They are monitoring tests for people that are infected with HIV.

Thanks. Will the Antibody test that I did on day 48 be conclusive? Am I unnecesarily worried about this situation. I got worried cos I got this red blotch, and I was stressed the following 2 weeks, lost 4 pounds, and i had a couple of more small bumps in the body. Sorry to bother you with this Teak but appreciate your expertise.
