Testing question?

Are elisa and western bot test done at the same time? Or do you need a positive elisa than get retested using the western bot?

Separate, 2 different samples. Either testing the 1st time oral, urine or blood with positive result and then a second to confirm with Western Blot via a blood sample.

I'm waiting to hear back from the Dr. Just looking for some info/advice on how the two test are done. Separate or together

You need to clear this up with your doctor because obviously there has been some mistake. He told you that your test result was negative,so the bill you received for the western blot must be incorrect.Only your doctor and his staff can explain why all this has happened.Call them.

I had a test done I'm assuming an elisa. My doctor said it was negative. I just don't understand why I'm getting billed for a confirmation test which is a western bot after positive elisa? I always thought if you have a positive elisa, you are told by the Dr and have to get further testing through the western bot.

If and when you enquire about your test results they would definately tell you if you tested positive and then confirm that result using a western blot. What was the result of your elisa test?

I understand that. Would I be told my elisa was positive and then another test is done to confirm with the western bot?

You require a positive elisa for a western blot to be done
