Both people can be in the room together if they wish. But that has nothing to do with both partners should test together. It's that both should test at the same time so you both know your status reports together before ever considering doing away with condoms.
I not really sure about both partners in the room when testing is done, i beleive they go into seperate room with their own testers. Its just knowing that you and your partner want to get tested and doing it at the same time is what I am saying. Getting the results are the same way it is done privately per individual. The only difference that I am aware of is if you and your married partner agree to testing in the same room at your health care provider. Its all about trust and communication between you and your partner if they differ from going with you I would ask why? and talk about it but it is up to the individual if they want to test or not. I had asked my wife to get with me and she said sure why not? thats show to and to me that we are both want to be health and have no worries in the future. Hope this helps.
