3 months post exposure gives a CONCLUSIVE result.
Is there a recommendation on, the number of tests to be performed , before coming to a conclusion ? or just a single test after 4 months sufficient?
I think you and her are fine. This topic causes a lot of anxiety and our brains start making things happen that really are not significant. If your that worried, retest, but if you already showed negative results you have really nothing to worry about.
Blood banks stringent policies.
why is it that red cross does not accept blood from donors who had received a, Tattoo/Body modifications in less than a year, if the CDC guidelines for testing is 3months post exposure?
no reason to retest, your test was negative. 4 months is conclsuive. Her symptoms have nothing to do with HIV. Have her see a Dr, this is not HIV related.
I had a possible exposure back in 2007, tested 2 weeks and again 4 months post (blood draw) , NEGATIVE ! its been 2 years since !!
However...recently my condom broke and ejaculate inside my current girl friend....but after 1-2 months she has been getting sick with sore throat/headaches, cold w/cough (few times). ....this has gotten me worried and recently checked the old report and it just says "no hiv" on the diagnostics card with other blood tests that include lipid profile and platlet count. It doesnt indicate what type of test was performed.
should I re-test? any recommendations?
whats the wait time for a oraquick?
Quicktest...oral or blood. But you have to make sure it is done 3 months after exposure for a conclusive result.
