Testing

I was just told by the lady who drew my blood that even though I tested negative to hiv at 12 weeks I still need to go once a year for 10 yrs to be checked because I still can be infected because hiv can be dormant and may take longer to get positive result. Is that true. Very scared

i guess that will be true in 1990s as , but in 2014 we have conclusive result for different test but test result in 3 month marks is very very accrued...or conclusive ,

What.... then that lady needs some teaching!

4 week 4th gen test is conclusive. Some people like to go again at 12 weeks but any more is overkill

That is one of the dumbest things I have ever heard. No you don't have to do that.
