i will be removing myself from this forum for a while and sit back and realize what i've done in my life and how much of an idiot i've become and wait for the outcome and the 12th week. thank you all,.especially you TEAK for the guidance and your opinions,..you are all very much respected. i feel as if i'm dying inside and wish i could take that day back. i'll talk to you guys in May unless i hear something sooner. I can't believe this, i always use a condom, always,...and the one time it breaks,..my life is changed forever.
Confused and Scared with continued symptoms in Milwaukee, Wisconsin
Well Tony you do realize that ARS does not last 7 weeks, it all comes at once over the course of 1 - 3 weeks. And it usually only happens between 2-4 weeks. So you need to calm down. Also 6 week test is around 99% chance you fine. It does not sound like HIV is your problem but some other illness...
Maybe just anxiety man. I have anxiety/hypochondria so bad, it makes me never even want to have intercourse in any way again. The risk just scares the **** out of me anymore. Your mind can play tricks on you and make you feel symptoms that werent really there in the first place. I start to freak out and make myself sick, I mean at first its in your head but the stress and everything seems to start to actually bring on physical symptoms. Like right now I am going through anxiety over my situation and I fell horrible and start to imagine symptoms.
I am in the same boat as you! Got my Neg 6 week Rapid Test. Felt good, then saw one or 2 exception cases, then, as if the 6 week mean nothing to me. Sigh.
I wish you best of luck, as I am also waiting for the 12 week mark.
is it possible the person didn't tell the truth?
When he did his 6 weeks test, it was neg, then maybe he took the risk again, or maybe he had not waited for 6 weeks.
Hi Tony, I am Indonesian, I am in the same boat as you, I did something stupid on 1st March 2008. I have got HIV tested every week until the 7 week with negative result. I also have symptom, but I am sure that HIV transmission is not easy.
So, we still have future, however we still have future.
I am still waiting for the 12 week result, however some say that 6 week is enough.
I am in exactly the same place you are. I tested at 3,4,5 and 7 weeks all negative. Yet I've had all the symptoms you describe. My worst symptom for the last week has been peripheral neuropathy especially in my hands. I've never experienced anything like it.
I just want to know what the heck is wrong with me. I went to my GP today and he ordered a bunch of different tests. Regarding my low risk exposure the GP said I likely did not get HIV, but he reccomnded re-testing at 6 months!
Then stupidly, like you,I kept reading on the interenet and that was a bad idea. I read about some guy over at thebody that the docs call the Enigma who's never tested pos. yet has all the hallmarks of HIV for the last 5 years, including declining CD4 counts. They think he may have contracted a rare subtype or a rare HIV like virus that current HIV tests can't pick up. The rational side of me realizes that that is an anamoly and that I should be thrilled with my 7 week negative, but I just can't get passed all of this. The symptoms are there and it's freaking me out. Don't know what to do other than wait and test again in another 4 weeks.
Try to relax, i know its hard though.

the doctor said 6 weeks it is enough.
