Thrush and HIV/Stress

I believe I had a high risk experience in which i could have been exposed to hiv.  This was about 4 months ago.  I dont really feel like i have had any symptoms like fever, rash, swollen lymphnodes, or anything flu-like, minus a cold at about the three month mark for a few days, although I have been extremely stressed out with this.

About 2 1/2 months after the incident I have noticed almost certainly mouth thrush.  Nothing severe, but little white bumps on gums, a little on the corners of the mouth, little on the inside of the cheek, nothing on the tongue though, and little hardness of swallowing. Could stress be the cause?  Could this not be Thrush?  Could an opportunistic infection like thrush show itself so early?  I would see this as move of an adavnced HIV symptom then inital or early.  I also used crest white strips around the time in noticed the thrush but it is not going away and its been about a week since i stopped using them.   I heard they can cause side effects.

I have ordered a home test but waiting for it to come in.

Any help will be appreciated, this situtation is overwhelmingly stressful!

He said he had unprotected sex. Isn't that a risk?

You don't know you had thrush unless you were diagnosed by a physician. Even IF it was, indeed thrush....thrush is a fairly common malady...and can have many many many causes.

Test at 3 months post your exposure for a conclusive result.

Symptoms don't mean a thing when it comes to HIV. HIV has no specific symptoms. The only way to know your status is by testing.

Unprotected sex with a womna very breifly with no protection.  I realize I need to be tested and will soon.  Just wondering how soon a symptom like that could show.  Thank you for your input.

If you had unprotected anal or vaginal sex you can test now and the test will be conclusive.
