blood strips..one question is are these acurate as they take little blood..makes me wonder if they can fin antibodies with small amount..and another question is..my last sexual
yeast infection..and 3 weeks after this encounter I developed slight thrush in the mouth which I have not had before..now I have totally freaked out as 3 weeks after is ARS time and thrush is always said to be hiv
broke..(surely we'd have seen this but ok..) would thrush alone be ARS? I don't think I have had fever (also sure I would know and have felt crap).I tested on rapid strip out of paranoia after 6 weeks exposure which in theory should be a decent indication..although as asked before..are these tests acurate as normal hiv test with more blood?
Thank you to anyone who replys.
Everyone has Candida Albicans in their system. Just about everyone will test positive for it either in stool samples, saliva, tongue scraping or blood tests. It is a benefical bacteria.People who smoke are commonly seen with oral yeast infections. Are you taking any medication ? We don't deal with medical questions here, we only assess your risk of contracting HIV. Your chance is very minimal at best ( if the other person was even infected) of contracting HIV. Candida is in NO WAY HIV SPECIFIC. The modern HIV antibody assays on the market are CONCLUSIVE after 3 months. No symptom or group of symptoms are diagnostic of HIV. You used a condom during your last encounter. If indeed it did break, it would be quite obvious, you wouldn't have to guess. You were protected up to that point. The HIV test you took(if it ws given at a clinic or by a physician in the US) is very reliable. Your 6 week NEGATIVE needs to be followed up at 3 months to be CONCLUSIVE, however , don't expect any change from NEGATIVE.
Thanks everyone, just worried as I have read so many places that thrush is a bad sign for hiv and this made me worry a lot.Last night I had a night sweat but I guess this could be anxiety..I will chill out and see what happens. Thanks!
