I think you're SEVERELY overreacting. You would have to be the one unluckiest man on the planet to get HIV that way. Get a test if you wish, but seriously, don't sweat it, expect only a negative.
I had a 10 second unprotected vaginal sex encounter with my gf. She was a virgin before she met me and certainly never did anything to possibly be exposed to it. I myself was a virgin before I met her and never did any high risk activities. HOWEVER, more than 6 and a half weeks ago, she cheated on me with a man with a unknown HIV status. Well, he said he got tested 5 weeks prior to their encounter and was neg.....but why would I believe him. Horney guys will say whatever to get sex. It was unprotected sex they had. I had sex with my gf 2 days later which was unprotected that lasted 10 secs. (We had to stop for something believe it or not). I didnt find out my gf cheated on me until after words as she confessed it to me. I was obviously torn apart and almost broke up with her...(most people would have). My gf explained to me that she thought it was safe because she believed the guy she did it with and was certain she didnt get it. I told her that she was stupid and needed to realize that what she did was wrong and stupid.
Anyway, what scares me most is...I have to worry about how sexually active this guy was in the past....he was 26, which means hes probably done it before. And then I have to wonder how sexually active his partners were. Considering he had unprotected sex with my gf, hes prolly done it with other women as well....yes hes a careless ******* i think. Anyway, she will be tested in a few days...i pray shes neg.
common sense doesnt work when ur talking about having a disease you could spread to others
What is your concern anyway? I don't remember your story
As I said, there is very little rational thought going on here.
Its funny because, common sense and statistics like these are the only thing keeping me with a positive attitude. I guess other people just dont care what the statistics are. Unlike all the debates and disagreements upon how risky certain activities are, how much symptoms really matter, and when the tests become highly enough accurate (for example..Dr.HHH says 6 weeks, but any website u go to says 3 to 6 months.) the one thing that doesnt lie are the statistics.
The estimated prevalence of HIV in the U.S. is 0.6% among adults, which is really high in my opinion, but you're right, most of these are gays, IVDUs and underpriveledged minorities, so the prevalence in the general "low risk" population is much lower. However, like peek said, common sense just doesn't seem to apply to this forum. Just look at the thread "Dr.H is biased" from yesterday....
It won't help anyone here at all. Even if you said there was 1 person out of 300 million, they'd still believe they would be the 2nd person.
Nice try, but there are obsessed people here. Rational thought does not apply.
