I'm a very active/very health concious male who excersices three days weights/two days cardio, i eat very healthy (never any fast food), i get glowing physicals from my gp. I've never done or even sampled drug/alchohol/cigarettes ever, not once (honest). My question is i was exposed by a needle stick as some of you know, it was intention by the person (iv drug user), the police arrested the person (two syringes on their person, claimed they did'nt do it and were not hiv
gave me antibiotics and a tetnus shot (the next day the area i was stuck was infected).
Questions.
1.I felt normal for one day and have been sick with a multitude of symptoms ever scince. Symptoms-swollen glands/extreme fatigue/stomach discomfort/tingles-(legs/arms)/headaches/vision blury (off/on)/stiff neck
/ difficultly sleeping/back pain/feet were cold/equalibrium problems (off/on)/loss of appetiete/lossed/regained weight/loss of muscle mass-gained back/pain at bottoms of feet/diarhea/pale stool(back to normal)Stomach felt swollen
a.Is it possible to have so many symptoms right away? The guidlines say no, but...
2.i tested first at around a month after exposure (hiv -)
3.I have not felt like my normal self pysically/mentaly every scince, my vigor is all but gone. The symptoms that have not let up are the fatigue/stomach discomfort after eating (no vomiting/naseau)/frequent urination/dry mouth/liver kidneys/spleen seem enlargedsinus pressure (off/on)sensations-brain/blury vision (on/off).
4.I tested hiv - again at exactly 85 days (I had it wrong on other posts)
-They say this is all but unlikley that i would be sick so soon and not show up positive (If it's hiv/hep-c) I can't be imagining all of the symptoms/i can't see it as a coincedence either. Most show up positive between four/eight weeks after exposure. How many exceptions can there be regarding this. Exposed to a needle stick/drug user), many symptoms, negative test results twice when most people ( 90 to 99) percent of which would have tested positive by now if exposed.
-Those 5 days seem to be making all the difference.
5.This is torture, i'm loosing my sanity thinking about hiv/hep c /syphillis/hep b/a/diabetes as part of this exposure. Is it possible that being very healthy before exposure has caused my body to put up a stronger than usual fight before it finally converts down the line? I feel i could have a stroke/heart attack/paralasis upon waking up sometimes. I know i'm suffering from anxiety/depression, but i'm also a person very much in tune with his body as well, something a foot. I'm almost certain i have hiv/hep-c, i've already accepted it without being told officially. Can the window period really be so far off for people. Funny how many people are okay at 4 weeks/6 weeks/8 weeks/12 weeks. When i'm still ill with odd symptoms some of them not even outlined in web sites. I wonder if i have cancer now, even thought i've had two physicals in three months. Please offer any advice you would like. I'm waiting until 6 months, one week - i guess i'm that guy that does not convert until 6 months, thats too much, i can't believe all the exceptions envolved, like every exception possible it seems.
85 day negative is a negative. we won't be able to help you. You need to see a psychologist. You have sever anxiety from the incident, which can definitely produce a majority of your symptoms.
You really think so? Even with many symptoms? I truly hope you are right my friend, but i must say i'm not very optimistic because of how low 'i've been feeling. I just find it hard to belive i'm just doing a number on myself. They say some people convert at the 13 week mark as well though. I know that my results are promising but also that hiv effects people in different ways. My thougths revolve around my results turning out hiv positive on my next test, this will be devestating...
